CRETAN MILL S.A. IS THE DIAMOND OF THE GREEK ECONOMY
Business distinction and a strong message of optimism for Cretan Mill S.A., member of the Almpantakis Group of Companies, which was awarded for yet another year as one of the Diamonds of the Greek Economy at yesterday's business excellence event "DIAMONDS OF THE GREEK ECONOMY 2019" which took place at the Grande Bretagne Hotel Athens. In the event representatives of the most dynamic business groups of the country participated and they were awarded and honored.
With this award, Cretan Mill, one of the most dynamic and fastest growing Greek companies in the olive oil sector, confirms that its business activity is associated with a healthy growth path and excellent indicators of economic sustainability, in a period of continued economic recession for the country. The award was received by the President and CEO of the company, Mr. Michalis Almpantakis, who was very excited and said: "I have to thank Mr. Ktenas, head of New Times for tonight's honor in honoring our family business. The company started 153 years ago from an olive mill in Kalessa, a small village in Heraklion, Crete, and today it exports Greek olive oil to 45 countries with a Group consisting of 9 companies; we are now the largest olive oil production and standardization company in Crete and one of the largest in Greece. We dedicate the award to our staff who give their best every day."
2018 was a year of strong performance for the Almpantakis Group. Despite the adversities and the ongoing difficulties in the macroeconomic environment of the country, it managed to achieve significant growth and overcome the obstacles by completing the investment plan of full vertical integration of more than €6,500,000 by acquiring UNIHER S.A. & IERAPETRA OLIVE-POMACE OIL MILL. True to its vision and strategic plan, we anticipate that 2019 will be an even stronger year."
